September already and the imems team has been busy busy all year. Not keeping up with all the housekeeping with all clients either – late delivery of reports is not something we are proud of but it happened. Sorry! The operational compliance work has been keeping the team fully occupied and travelling around a bit. Paul has been updating his skills in a train the trainer course as part of the work. He has had involvement in delivery of many inservice sessions so this should add more finess to his delivery and expand his understanding of the teaching process … finding this quite challenging and rewarding – THIS ex-teacher certainly thinks it is a very good thing!  Â

Ahhhh! Now to the lovely biannual Woodgate water sampling job that Kaine and Maureen completed so efficiently recently… well mostly efficiently. Since the last trip, K & M have a new respect for the instablility of disturbed sandy soils. The photographs tell the story. Seriously though, this job is on a beautiful site and the samplers are treated to a visual spectacular in winter months when the wildflowers provide a scenic distraction as they furiously work their way around the many sampling points.

*************

Now that Paul is back from a week (can\’t let him out of the ofice for too long!) camping in a river bed at Running Waters a few hundred kilometers out of Alice Springs, it\’s all go in the IMEMS office though we did of course keep beavering away while the big boss was out of town. Current jobs are involving Paul, Kaine and Maureen (a recent mature age graduate of an Environmental Scence Degree who is doing some casual work with us) in operational management and compliance works with one our special longer term clients; ongoing water monitoring, sampling and reporting and some interesting soil testing of chemical barriers. We\’re hoping soon to be involved in some the environmental mangagement works related to a new distillery and sugar mill.
